Time to change your filter!
February 1st, 2008Once a month it’s a good idea to take a look at the filter in your furnace and see if it needs to be cleaned or changed. Over time furnace filters become clogged with dirt and debris decreasing the quality of clean air that passes through your furnace.
The filter doesn’t stop the flow of air from its source; the furnace itself, but it does determine based on its condition the cleanliness of the air passing through it.
We have a filter that requires attention every now and then. This filter determines who we think we are, and what our beliefs are. It too can be clogged full of dirt and scary stuff that we have placed there, hampering the love and flow of Source to get through.
This love is continuous, ever flowing: It just is. Based on our filter we either feel this love or we don’t.
Its time to change your filter! Take it out and really look at it. If you are not feeling love, joy, happiness, peace, abundance, then take a look at yourself and the thoughts that you hold and see if you need to replace your filter with a new one.

Unfolding
April 20th, 2006As I look down my path, I reflect on where I started and where I am today. I remember many wonderful experiences, new and exciting people and the subtle change in my consciousness.
I do remember times that I considered rough. During those times I felt that my spiritual growth and psychic development either had stopped completely or slowed to a crawl. I can remember periods of sorrow, anger and depression. I would look outside myself and compare my progression to others. I saw individuals making leaps and bounds but yet I was hardly moving. I wanted everything now and I did not want to wait for it. I wanted to be the best psychic, the best medium and I wanted this to happen overnight. My ego would get involved and pretty soon I had convinced myself that I was less than others.
Contemplating my path, I realize (real eyes) that all this time I am unfolding. This unfolding can feel like it’s slow at times but it is a natural progression that leads me to a state of higher consciousness. Unfolding is an actual state of being, it is a process. I would compare it to a lotus blooming. Slowly my petals of consciousness open up and reveal to me who I truly am. Over time I am shown my center. If I let go, I can feel this process occurring. It feels as if layers of blankets are slowly pulled away from me, and I feel my consciousness expand as each layer is unfolded. This is part of the integration, taking in lessons that you have learned over time and absorbing them into your consciousness.
When times feel tough, and you feel like you are going nowhere down your path, always remember that your Higher Self is always in communication with you and Spirit. Relax, meditate and hold the state of gratitude. Free yourself from the burden that the ego puts us through. Know in your heart that you are loved and that you are where you are supposed to be, always learning, integrating and loved.

Learning through Silence
March 14th, 2006It has been my experience that I am constantly being taught and guided in silence. Not that this silence is completely silent but that it is a higher understanding and a constant communication with spirit, my teachers and my higher Self. This “silence” most of the time is an unspoken word. It is a deliberate form of intent from Spirit that teaches and guides me along my path. I feel that this is one of the ways that my psychic abilities have developed as well as having my consciousness increase.
At times when I concentrate on this silence I can hear words but most of the time I feel a constant connection and a stream of communication. I would compare this to my physical connection that I have with the internet. I have a cable modem that is plugged into the internet. It is always on, and packets of information are constantly being directed to my computer.
I feel the most important part to this process is my intent, willingness and awareness of being open to the idea that this direction and teaching is happening. I mentally open myself to the experience, I allow. It is a knowing, an understanding that what ever I am doing on a conscious and subconscious level this process continues.
We are all plugged into Source for there is no separation. As I used the analogy of my internet connection I will use the example of what a firewall does. A firewall allows traffic to flow in and out of a computer. This is done by opening and closing ports. Our allowing ourselves to be aware and being taught by silence is an active part of co creating. It is allowing that port to be opened in both directions so that energy can flow to and from us.
This entire process allows you to experience synchronicity. You will start seeing events and books related to each other. You will find that you are being led down a path that connects the dots from one event to the other.
As I said earlier, for this process to work you must have the awareness and most of all the highest intention that you are always being taught and led by Spirit. To have this happen, meditate and expand your consciousness. Broaden your experience of who you think you are, widen the circumference that you are the center of and let go of all mental and physical limitations that would cause you to act from a state of littleness. Consciously expand your awareness to that higher vibration.
The classes that I teach on meditation will help you a great deal. I teach you how to find that connection and maintain it. In my psychic ability classes we expand on this idea and I help you identify your spirit guides which can enrich your relationship and propel your spiritual growth.

Profound
February 25th, 2006Profound,….What is Profound? It is something of what most people with Metaphysical interest expect.
Let us Think of what Profound is, hearing, seeing, loving, the sky, the earth, healing, babies, trees, flowers, water, tasting a delicious fruit? Gee! How does this happen? But these things I expect, I already know these things, I want something profound!

Mental Equivalent
February 8th, 2006I have many clients who come to me asking how to manifest their dreams and desires. I immediately tell them that they must have a Mental Equivalent in their mind of what they want to manifest.
They must see the object of their desire in their mind and know that it is already here. If it exists in Spirit, it will exist in the physical.
Emmet Fox wrote, “Supply yourself with a mental equivalent and the thing must come to you.” He continued saying “Everything that you see of feel on the material plane, whether it is your body, your home, your buisness, or your city, is but the concrete expression of a mental equivalent that you hold.”
Once you see the object of your desire in your mind, attach emotion to it. Get excited about it, have a knowing that it is here already and is manifested. For example, if you want a new car, see yourself driving the car, see the exact color, smell the newness of it and affirm that it is here in the now.
The secret of successful living is to build the mental equivalent that you want and to rid yourself of the mental equivalent that you do not want. If you do not like what you see change it, change your thoughts and change the image of the scene.

Forgiveness
January 22nd, 2006Forgiveness is the crux to A Course in Miracles.
It is forgiving the guilt that we have because we believe we are separate from God. If we realize that there was no separation, that we are living in a dream, we forgive the illusion and allow Holy Spirit to work through us.
Robert Perry, author of Glossary Terms from A Course in Miracles explains forgiveness as this:
“Giving up your false perception that another sinned against you and that you are justified in resenting and punishing him. Releasing this perception automatically releases your resentment and desire to punish. Releasing another not from what he did, but from “what he did not do” from your misinterpretation of what he did. This can forgive, for it frees your mind of resentment and releases the other from the accusation of sin and guilt. The rational behind forgiveness is that sin is not real. It is a wrong perception of attack.”
Another lesson from A Course in Miracles is: “If I defend myself I am attacked.” There are many times I have been involved in either conversations or emails from someone that projects their anger onto me. They see me as the issue, and they see what I did or did not do as wrong. Since I know that my true Self is love and not the ego, I cannot be attacked, that means there is nothing to defend. My usual responses are thoughts of love to the person and or a response of love and admiration to that person in email. I choose consciously to see the truth in the individual which is Christ. I choose consciously with the help of Holy Spirit to not see the person’s projections of fear and ego, but only extend the love that I have for myself onto that person.
Perry goes on further by saying “Attack has no power to do real harm, because what is real (in you and in your “attacker”) cannot be harmed or changed in any way. The ultimate rationale for forgiveness is that “the separation never occurred” that “I am as God created me,” that “God’s Son is guiltless.” Attack, then has no effects. It is a harmless mistake, a call for love.”
The most important part to this is being mindful and being in the present moment. Next time when a situation arises, remember to ask Holy Spirit to remind you to see the truth in that person and to forgive that which did not just occur.
Namaste.

Anger
January 5th, 2006I study A Course in Miracles. In fact on Monday January 9th at 6:00 PM Pacific Time (8:00 PM Central Time) I will be starting a discussion group on A Course in Miracles. This is open to members of the Spiritual Online Community, and will be held in “The Mountains” room. If you have any questions regarding this discussion group, please email me at: timothy@answerswithin.net
Recently, I was having a conversation with a coworker. I brought up a topic that angered him, which resulted in him taking a stance and not wanting to continue the conversation. At first I was taken back by this but was quickly reminded of what anger is and why I should not respond to him with anger. I was told to see the situation for what it is, remind myself that this is an illusion, thank the person for being there, forgive him, and release it. Forgiveness will be the next topic I write about in my blog.

- Glossary of Terms from A Course in Miracles
by Robert Perry, Robert explains how anger is defined and used in A Course in Miracles.
“Anger is the emotion which stems from condemnation, from the judgement that someone is not fulfilling the function you allotted him and is attacking you, from the perception that he has sinned and should feel guilty. Anger is expressed as attack and results in guilt and finally fear of punishment. This fear of outer attack seems to justify further anger and the cycle starts over. Anger results in guilt and fear because it comes from your unconscious attraction to guilt and fear.”
The Course goes on to say:
“Anger is never justified.” “Even the destruction of the body does not justify anger, for the body is not real. Jesus taught this in the crucifixion.”
“Anger obliterates your helpfulness, obscures the peace of God, and is a sure sign that your thinking is guided by the ego.”
The Course goes on to talk about “attack thoughts”
‘Attack thoughts are thoughts of anger. The source of our entire perception of the world. We entertain attack thoughts, then project them onto the word and then interpret the world as wanting to take vengeance on us for our attack on it.”
This is why it is so important to be mindful and in the now. You will be able to see anger being projected either from you or from someone else onto you. You will be aware of such thoughts and situations and see what they truly are. To see it all as in illusion and to forgive the person for what just occurred.

Gratitude
January 1st, 2006Being gracious and holding the thoughts of gratitude are one of the keys to an abundant life.
Why is this? God does not know lack. God is abundance and only knows abundance. God is not aware of lack because you are a child of God, which is whole perfect and complete. We are Spirit and therefore come from only love and abundance.
When we hold thoughts of gratitude, we maintain a clear channel for abundance to flow through us. We are telling the universe that we are grateful for the abundance that we have and we are open to receiving more.
With the higher cost of oil, we have been told that our heating bills this winter will increase. When you get this bill, thank God, Source, Universe (or what ever metaphor you want to use) that you have a residence where you and your family are safe warm and dry. Be thankful for this bill because it symbolizes what you and your family use during that particular time of month. What is most important, be thankful for the money that you have and that you will receive to pay this bill.
What you do not want to do is be afraid, upset, or worried that the bill is so high and that you do not have the money to pay it. What this does is block your flow of abundance and decreases the amount of money and energy that will come into your life. Always hold thoughts of gratitude.
In prayer, always be thankful for what you have and what you are about to receive. Declare you already have what you are wanting and thank God for it. Release it and have faith that it is manifesting right here and right now.
Have a wonderful New Year.
